Yummy new Asian snack I found! ^_^

I was running around trying to find a good, yummy snack to try while I was drawing, when I found this brilliant bite size sweet in a store here.

They are a nut covered in white goodness and really nice. ^_^

Now if only it was equally easy to get the colour right in the picture I’m colouring I’d be soooo happy. -_-’ Hopefully I’ll have some pics of if soon.

Update: New Fanart

I posted a sketch for some time ago and promised to colour it. And here it is. It’s a fanart of Katsura-san from Gintama. He looks a bit young compared to his usual self but I hope you’ll recognize him by his long black hair hehe :D

So, finally the time we (well, me and neko at least) have been waiting for! After a lot of talking, posting and inking, ReYa is ready to announce to the world that our next one-shot series is ready to been seen by the world! ^_^

This one has been a bit of a secret project of mine as I’ve been trying some different stiles and techniques I’ve been reading about over the last couple of years. Neko also got to try some stuff in the process that she doesn’t usually do to often, so it was a fun project in many ways.

Please forgive the randomness and bad humor and also please tell us what you think of it. ^_^

Akemi Takade-sensei drawing

I found this cool video via ikikata.se showing Akemi Takada-sensei drawing. Takada-sensei is the mangaka of Maison Ikkoku, Inu Yasha and Kimagure Orange Road ( superfamiljen in Swedish ) if anyone is having problem remembering what she’s done.

She is so freakishly fast on some things, I can see how she can manage to draw so many volumes to her stories for the weekly and monthly magazines. *sooo impressed*

On my way home

I’m currently sitting on the train on my way home. Beside me sits a man drinking beer. It’s not too pleasant ;__; I don’t usually drink except for some rare occasions and I don’t like the smell of alcohol. The smell of the beer when he breathes out and then mixing with his cologne or perfume or whatever is nauseous. the smell triggers my reflex to throw up. I hope to arrive soon but it’s still an hour left (TT_TT)

How to: Header image for summer

ReYa needs a new header image since Spring is in the air and it’s getting warmer. Thus I did just that. Drew a new header image. Now that the drawing is done it needs some fixing and trimming in Photoshop. I’ll do that when I get hold of a scanner. In the meanwhile I want to show you how I coloured the illustrations. Unfortunately I only took a few pictures since I forgot to take pictures when I was absorbed in my painting (-_-’ ) Sorry. For now I hope you’re satisfied with this and find it useful. Strawberry milk

I’ve been living in Ireland for 1.5 years now and this place is seriously lacking on the manga scene. I’ve been looking for local con’s or mangaka’s, but so far nothing. TT_TT

This is one of the reasons you have not seen us at cons and such lately.
I was surfing Baptista’s blog today and saw all the cool cons and prodjects she has been doing lately. I’m so envious!!
Did anyone see the cool books she has out this year? Wow, has she been working hard!

After reading all that I whent and got myself some strawberry milk. One of the few products here that reminds me of Japanese products.

Damn you Printer! Damn you to hell! ò_ó

I was suppose to start a picture project today. A colour picture that I had all planned. I even hurried home from work today, to get to an art shop for some extra supplies of a special drawing ink as I could not find it during the weekend while that shop was closed.

And now I find out it’s all for nothing.

I had it all planned out beautifully. I would start the picture and while sketching the basis of it, I would watch another episode of Star Gate Universe (my new obsession (well, it’s still season 1 and I’m still irritated they took away my beloved wraith…. so we’ll see…)) and BE HAPPY, DAMN IT!

What happened? I had everything set up, and then my printer decides that it will not print anything that looks like anything worth having and I need that pic as a reference! I can’t start with out it. TT_TT

It’s just not fair!

So instead I spent an hour playing around with Poser to see what the guy model looks like while standing around in the females poses. Yeah, I’m easily distracted. (BTW, he looks gay as a rainbow if anyone is wondering, it was great fun.)

I’ll have to run in to a printing shop tomorrow, when they are open again and ask for some help with the printing.

Life is hard. -_-’

Found myself a cool prezzy. ^_^

Yesterday I was out shopping and decided to give myself a present for all the hard work I’ve done lately with ReYa projects and I found just the thing!

It’s so cool! I didn’t know I needed one until I saw it. ^_^
I was randomly standing in an art shop and reading an art pamphlet. They where discussing how cool they where and I was thinking “hold on, I’ve never seen this before!” ending with me running up to the store owner asking “where is it?! I want one!”.
don’t worry, I do that all the time… -_-’

It’s an eraser pen! How cool is that?! ^_^

I’m dieing to try it out and I’m hoping to get to do so soon.

If anyone is wondering, the end of the pen has a brush that lets you gently remove the rubber left overs from your picture.

Review: Uragiri wa Boku no Namae Shitteiru

I painted the new header image and rewarded myself with watching Uragiri wa Boku no Namae wo Shitteiru, a shoujo with shounen-ai undertones. The first episode wasn’t that interesting though. Still I gave it another chance and watched the second episode. It was a little bit better but not much better. But since I like Only the Ring Fingers knows, and the manga version of this anime is illustrated by Odagiri Hotaru sensei, I somehow wanted to at least see all the four episodes that have been translated. It wasn’t until episode 3 that I felt that it was interesting enough and actually wanted to watch episode 4. But still, I think House of five leaves was better. The characters had more depth and the story was more unusual. Uragiri wa Boku no Namae wo Shitteiru is more mainstream. The characters are more stereotypical and the storyline is predictable. If I have to rate it I’ll give it 3 out of 5. It’s average. It’s not bad and sufficient for killing time. See illustration from manga and anime under the cut. (more…)
