THE Kumakun is Back!
Kumakun is a long time ReYa blogist and use to write for the Ai – Love and Pain section of our site, but has been tragicly quiet lately.
Well, no more! Last week when I was in Sweden for a couple of days, he told me “Strawberry, I can’t stand reading your bad excuse for updates any longer and by the way, you draw way to slow! I’m going to fly over with you and make sure something worth reading gets updated and I might as well keep an eye so you actually do some drawing, you idiot!” Well, I had little choice in the matter after that proclamation.
When we arrived at the airport Kumakun spotted, nearly directly a shop that sold Birka bread, a traditional bread cake. As you can see, Kumakun has not lost his sweet tooth.
Kumakun was at first complaining about flying economy Copenhagen to Dublin, until I told him we’d be flying RyanAir between Dublin and Cork. Funny how a bit of perspective can change ones outlook on things. ^_^
Just before lift of, literally on the runway, they stopped the plane and headed back to the gate. Hydrolics leak! Scary!
They found a new plane for us but we ended up being 2 hour late.
So we landed 2 hours late at Dublin airport and I only had 15 min to get from the gate in one end of the airport, go thru the passport control, luggage collection point (thank God I only fly with hand luggage so I could run past it), airport security point with customs and x-ray machines and then after that locate my gate and as luck would have it, find out it was at the very other end of the airport. I ran via at least 8-9 of those escalator walk ways that they put in when a corridor is ridiculously long. Guess what! I just made it. ^_^
Unfortunately, as I was sitting in the plane with Kumakun, trying to catch my breath, I found out something awful!
When I was hurrying thru the security point, the grumpy security lady who had heartlessly ripped out my beloved Kalles Kaviar from my bag, after aggressively opened it and thrown it’s contents around as well as any mega sized mixer would have managed (leaving me wondering how I would get it closed again for the ryanair flight), had also taken out my folder with my drawings that I was transporting home again, and placed it behind something so I did not see it when I took my back again and ran.
If anyone has ever seen the Norwegian paining Skriget (the Scream) will know how I looked at that time. They where all originals representing a big part of the last 5 years of drawing and painting. Just to make it more fun, some of them have never need scanned and where the only thing I had of the picture. I was totally devastated and did not at first know if it had gone missing in Copenhagen or Dublin (only times the bag was opened) until the lovely people at Cork Airport called me later that night telling me that Dublin airport had found it!
Here comes the part that melts my heart, my boyfriend after hearing what had happened, decided to go up to Dublin himself on a bus for a total of 8 hours to collect it personally as he was not happy with me spending that kind of time on a bus and did not want to risk the folder getting lost of damaged with a courier service. We couldn’t fly as they where way to expensive so close to flying out and the train is a long winded as the bus but costs somewhere around 4 times as much. The airports lost properties actually gave it to him for no finders fee when they heard he had gone up instead of me. They found it so romantic. (By then they all probably know who I was as I emailed and called their voice mail nearly every day. :P )
So now I’ve finally gotten my drawings back and my boyfriend is my hero! <3
oh, and Kumakun has told me my flat is adequate for the time being… ^_^’
