New picture for Prästen

I did a new picture for prästen. It’s a concept type of picture so it’s a bit artsy…

For anyone wondering, I actually made it on my iPad using a vector based drawing app called Paintbook. It was a lot harder getting the lines alive on this app then the sketchbook app that I’ve been playing around with on my ipod touch. You will all soon see the result from my ipod touch drawing soon. ^_^ Just need to finish one or two things more….

Another update on the Colour Picture

I’ve gotten a bit further on the picture. ^^ So far it’s turning out better then I feared when I just started it. (I have such confidence in myself…) There is still plenty to figure out and I’ve only done half the picture so far, so ample chance to make a mess of it still. :P

I’ve also updated the script so the new character is in there. ^^ Working hard!

Colour Picture

I’m working on a colour picture for Prästen. Trying out some of the characters and what not. Here is a sneak peek of the picture while I’m making it. ^^

Header image inked

I inked the header image and what’s left is to decide for some colours and start painting it. But finding the right colours is not the easiest task. I might take on the challenge this weekend though. I initially had plans visiting a museum but according to the weather forecast it’s going to rain cats and dogs both Saturday and Sunday.  Why not stay at the hotel and get some work done I then.

Fun fair in town

The fun fair came to town this weekend. And me and my boyfriend got there the last night in town. <3

Photo Reference Trip to a Jail

Hi Everyone!

I’ve started to plan for the next manga I’m making “prästen” and going over all my reference pictures to see if I’m missing any crucial pictures. I decided that “Yes, your missing some very important pictures”. Lucky me, I already know where to find what I need to photograph in this case so it made it a lot easier.

1 week ago I went to the Cork City Gaol (the old jail come museum) and had a bit of a photo session until they where looking a bit sideways at us…  ^_^’

I got some great shots of what I needed, but it’s also a great place for eerie photos or ruins as there are a lot of corridors there that are just empty and closed of and in the back some buildings where just let go.

New assignment in Gothenburg

*sigh* It’s impossible for me to keep up with the weekly Friday updates.  Sorry sorry. Oh, and I’m back from Japan now ^^ Missed me? Well, I knew nobody will even notice I was gone hahaha Yes, what I was trying to say is that I’ll try to update on a regular basis at Sunday/Monday instead of Friday.

The continued saga of black hair highlights

It’s been a bit quiet from me for a while because I’ve been researching black hair highlights, my new nemesis.

If you want nice “wow” hair, it looks like I’m stuck with the inking from hell. -_-’
I first looked with hope to Gokusen, because they doesn’t do highlights in the hair, but then they are not really going for the “wow” factor, are they? TT_TT So it was a little like an epic fail looking there for ways around it, and keeping the wow.
I must have gotten confused with the live action hair instead….

Now I’m getting more and more inspired to go back an finish the last of the texting on Drug Problems, the last manga I was drawing that hasn’t been published yet. Gomenasai! I got lazy while waiting for my new shiny wacom and then forgot…

Working hard

I’ve been inking for the last 2 days and only have the hair left to do.
I’ve gotten so pleased of my line quality and how fantastic it had gone, that I should have known it could not last.
Last night I started with the hair inking and had found a good referance pic to see how to do the effect I wanted. I’d visulized where the highlights should be and was all gung ho about it, and that is when it started going wrong.
It didn’t look like I’d imagined it and the more I tried to correct it, the worse it got. Hair has never been my strong point, that is Neko’s super ninja skill.
But I wanted to impress her just once with perfect, smoth, shiny hair, flowing over the page like a soft mist in the morning sun. Insted it resembles the hair of the ghost woman in ringu, when she crawls out of the well. -_-’

Why? WHY!
Sorry neko-chan, please fix my crumbled dream of silky, perfect hair. -_-’

Manga Review: Saint Young Men

I found a delightful slice-of-life recently. If you haven’t read Saint Young Men you’ve missed a hilarious slice-of-life by Nakamura Hikaru. However surreal it sounds like the manga is about Jesus and Buddha spending their vacation in present-day Japan sharing a small apartment in Tokyo. Nakamura-sensei even throw in an odd couple twist to it. Nakamura-sensei’s rendition of the two divinities might be a whee bit different from what you know about them :)
