A look from drawing on the iPad

I decided to test drawing on the iPad a couple of weeks ago and you all saw the result, pretty ok for a first try.
Drawing on an iPad is a lot more natural then drawing on a normal wacom board. There is not the displacement of hand working on table and you looking up, to get use to.
I used a pogo sketch pen and that took me a couple of minutes to get use to the big contact point and where that will actually leave the line. :P but didn’t take me to long to get use to, even though every now and again I have to stop and redo a couple of lines as they are showing up in the wrong place.
The drawing programs on the iPad are very responsive and draw with no bothersome lagg.
Only problem so far is that I prefer to draw in pixel based programs as I like the line quality, not to artificially perfect, but only the vector based apps are currently outputting in print quality. :/
I guess there is always something. ^_^’

Yay! Neko’s back! With more reference pics! ^_^

New picture for Prästen

I did a new picture for prästen. It’s a concept type of picture so it’s a bit artsy…

For anyone wondering, I actually made it on my iPad using a vector based drawing app called Paintbook. It was a lot harder getting the lines alive on this app then the sketchbook app that I’ve been playing around with on my ipod touch. You will all soon see the result from my ipod touch drawing soon. ^_^ Just need to finish one or two things more….

Dragon

While checking out old Swedish wall decorations, I decided to try to visualise how a wiking dragon from the old rune stones would look if it was not flat and very 2D. It was a lot of fun, but very hard to get the isight camera to pick up the drawing well, as it was drawn very softly with a pen. I tried fixing it in photoshop, but it was useless. -_-’

Second part of sketches from Bordeaux

Here is the second picture I did while in Bordeaux, France.

It was this lovely restaurant and café on one of the squares, tucked away between some streets.

Quick sketch from Bordeaux ^_^

Last week I was in Bordeaux, France, taking it easy and seeing some of the local sites (ok, so we walked past a lot of the sites and didn’t actually visit any of the sites except the customs museum, but that counts, right?).

I took the chance to do a sketch of a famous clock tower just beside the Victor Hugo street. Again, just a quick sketch on the run, so sorry for parts being easier to see then others. -_-’ Gomen!

I’ll see when I can take a photo of the other sketch I did, for you guys.

Another quick sketch ^_^

Lately I’ve started bringing a book with me in my bag, trying to motivate myself to do more sketching, especially of buildings and people. I want to get a better feel for depth and volume. They are nothing fancy, just quick sketches on the run.

So I figured sharing them would probably make it easier to, and it might be fun to see where I’ve been. ^_^

this one is of one of the bridges in Cork, Ireland, over the river lee.

Freehand Drawing at Bunratty Castle

I was at Bunratty Castle this weekend and while there, in a smoky pub called Dirty Nelly, where the light was close to none existent, I decided to cuddle up beside the open fire they had and do a very quick sketch of the place.

It’s not much, but I figured you guys would enjoy a bit of random doodles, if nothing else. ^_^

Sorry for being so bad at it, hopefully I’ll get better with time. -_-’

Header image inked

I inked the header image and what’s left is to decide for some colours and start painting it. But finding the right colours is not the easiest task. I might take on the challenge this weekend though. I initially had plans visiting a museum but according to the weather forecast it’s going to rain cats and dogs both Saturday and Sunday.  Why not stay at the hotel and get some work done I then.

Where is spring?

It was snowing really bad yesterday and the trains were all delayed… although I decided to leave work a little early at four I didn’t get home until seven o’clock. But this is not the end of it because when I got home what was waiting for me was some snow shovelling out in the cold -__- I’m longing for spring ;__;

What a wonderful day

Wow, today I woke up to the sound of birds chirping and the light of the rising sun ^^ Can it get any better. Well, if it wasn’t Sunday and tomorrow isn’t Monday I guess ^^ But still, waking up to bird chirping and a bright beautiful sky is good enough. I usually wake up to a pitch black sky and come home from work when it’s already dark during weekdays. It’s different today and I’m in a very cheerful mood ^^ I decided to update with an old sketch but one I haven’t shown before. I’m trying to learn Chinese painting and it’s really hard >_< But I’m pretty happy with this little sketch though. I hope you’ll find it to your liking :) I’m also adding this to the collections of sketches :)
