I had a quick sit down with Selene, a budding talent, at Limericks BroCon. Selene has been drawing since she was 13 but changed drawing style to manga when she was 14. Today Selene is trying to develop her own style but still keeping true to shoujo, as she finds manga characters too generic.

BroCon Interview: Ciaran Lucas

I took the chance to have a sit down and talk comics with Ciaran Lucas at BroCon in Limerick. Ciaran has been making a living as a digital artist since 2007. So far he has mostly been working as a Colorist and inker. Some of the comics he has been working on are Jenna Blue, Vincent Price and Angel (as in the comic version of Buffy the Vampire Slayer spin off), but also children’s illustrations for school books and for the Irish scouts.

Akemi Takade-sensei drawing

I found this cool video via ikikata.se showing Akemi Takada-sensei drawing. Takada-sensei is the mangaka of Maison Ikkoku, Inu Yasha and Kimagure Orange Road ( superfamiljen in Swedish ) if anyone is having problem remembering what she’s done.

She is so freakishly fast on some things, I can see how she can manage to draw so many volumes to her stories for the weekly and monthly magazines. *sooo impressed*
